last week Mr Gunn told us a story about a man who's Dad past away. His son wanted to build a waka for his Dad so he went out into the forest and looked for a tree he found a perfect totara . So Rata chopped down the tree skinned it and cut all the branches off .By the time he did all that it was dark so he went back for dinner. The next morning the tree was standing Rata was amazed. So he cut the tree down skinned it chopped all the branches of and hollowed it. That night he hid in the bushes and watched. Birds and insects came down and fixed it .Rata hopped out of his hiding spot and said ''hang on'' thats my waka for my dad i wanted to carry him back to his home land the animals said did you think about all the animals living in the tree '' no'' said Rata that morning there was a beautiful waka all caved .
My special person is my Nana because she supports me. She is a special gift of God.
She use to say cold hands with a warm heart.
