Should The Sale Of Fireworks Be Band In NZ??? πŸŽ‡

I disagree that the sale of fireworks should be banned  because, fireworks at home are a great time to spend with with family members that you don't see often and they're so beautiful.

For me there are different vibes about fireworks  at home, it's not the same as a show.I like being involved in all the action and spending time  with my family.

If irresponsible people have fireworks in dry places the spark could catch so why don't we have fireworks at Matariki time when there's not as  much of a chance of bush fires. Matariki is a new beginning light and fun ,fireworks are perfect for then .

One box costs some money but what's better than having fun with your family members are coming up from Dargaville to join us for the big excitement ,it will be great to see them  again ,Fireworks are so much fun I don't think they should be banned.

I disagree that the sale of fire works should  in NZ because the colourful illusion is so amazing and it's time to spend with your family. Instead of a crowd.

Pablo Picasso

Lately we have been learning about Pablo Picasso the famous artist, who was most known for his cubism art.He grew up in Malaga, Spain. His first famous painting was at the age of NINE. Picasso's fathers name was Jose Ruiz y Blasco and his mums name was Maria Picasso y Lopez. Did you know that Pablo Picasso's full name was 20 names long.
Anyway we have been making a piece of art our self inspired by Picasso. We had a sheet of facial parts eyes ears nose mouth and a face shapes, we rolled a dice to see what facial part we got here's a pic of the sheet.

Mine was very interesting. First we collected an A4 piece of paper and drew the shape of the face then we drew the nose eyes and ears on different pieces of paper and moved them around to see what looked better.Once we were happy with how it looked and it was how we wanted it we glued them on and added hair.

This is a pic of my draft.

Then we drew the exact same thing on a piece of A3 paper and coloured it in with chalk pastel.

We added black pastel to the pieces that we wanted to out line, when we were happy we cut it out and Mrs Cutler glued it to a piece of black paper and wallah.

This is the finished result.

My Amazing,Scary,Relaxing holidays.

Since it’s the first day of term 4  Mrs Cutler asked us to
share
an amazing,
a scary and a relaxing thing that we did in the holidays.

Something amazing that I did during the holidays
was…

SNOWBOARDING!!! We went to the snow and it was the
first time that I have ever snowboarded. My Auntie and
little cousin came
down with us.
It was the first time in my life that I have seen fresh
snow falling it was
EXCITING, BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING.
One time I managed to snowboarded all the way down
the beginners slope which was quite big, by the way.
I had so much fun it was great.

What was something scary that happened in your
holidays…

Falling backwards off a cliff!!! Ok so it was not a cliff,
it was an indoor
rock climbing wall.
Every grip got harder and harder to climb, by the top
my arms were burning.
Then you had to let go and trust harness to catch your fall.
It’s not human nature to fall backwards off a cliff - you have
to force your brain to do it. It was so scary the first time
and the second, but then it was fun.

What was something relaxing that happened in your
holidays…

The most relaxing part of my holiday was having a
spar every evening after a day of holiday fun.

Hiwi The Kiwi.

On Tuesday morning Hiwi the Kiwi visited our school, Hiwi the Kiwi is a show that travels all around New Zealand.Mr Minstrel and Mrs Minstrel share a message about how to protect our fish, native birds and they also teach us all about boat safety.

They taught us that you need to pick up a fish with a wet towel because fish have a covering on their skin and if you touch it the fish will get infected and die. They also said that only let a salt water fish go in normal water because as soon as you put it in fresh water it starts to go off.
Mr Minstrel reminded us that we always need to rule our fish so they can grow up and produce more fish and to let the massive ones go so they can bread.

Mr Minstrel wrote and sang his own songs that were very catchy and funny and they were all based about New Zealand and Hiwi the Kiwi (by the way he was an amazing singer.)Mrs Minstrel was the dancer. They would sing a song and then ask you a question and if they picked you, you would get an awesome poster and sticker.I scored a poster and a sticker,it was so much fun I can't wait for next time.

Challenging our senses.

Every Tuesday morning we have a thing called Mahi Tahi. Just a reminder Mahi Tahi is where the three senior classes are come together and the  teachers come up with a crazy challenge, we also have a little something called the 4Cs Collaboration, Communication,Critical thinking and Creativity.

We use ice block sticks with our name and year level on it.Each class has a bag full of the students names so every group has totally random year levels and people.

Today's task was taste testing. We were split up into groups of four, two people were blind folded, one person had to taste the ingredients and describe what they were tasting to the other blind folded person, and he/she  had to guess the ingredients that the other person had tasted.

The other two people wrote down the answers. The taster became the guesser and the guesser became the taster. After we both got a turn, we swapped with the people who were writing  answers down.

We were tested by our senses and describing clearly, there were so many different ingredients but it was still great fun.

So what one of the 4Cs did we use today?
Communication,Collaboration,Critical thinking or Creativity???

🌏Playing Around With Google Earth.🌏

A couple of days ago Tui class were learning about famous landmarks, I did the Sydney Opera house as you can see in my older posts. Mrs Cutler found an app called google earth it's similar to google maps but when you use google earth you just type a place for example you could type the capital of France and it would take you to Paris and you can explore Paris and see all types of things.

The similarity's are when you use google maps you use the little stick man in the right corner and drop it where you want to go, you do the same with google earth and some times you can explore even further.
